Killarney Metals: Wall Mount Drip Pans
June 4, 2013 - Charlotte, NC
The most recent innovation for Killarney Metals is the wall mount drip pan. These drip pans have built-in supporting ribs and a tall back wall with mounting holes laser-cut into it for mounting the drip pan against any wall. This is useful for catching leaking liquids in locations where owners do not want drip pans sitting on the floor. The Wall Mounted Drip Pans are engineered for commercial applications, such as auto service centers to industrial complexes and manufacturing environments where wall-mounting is available and preferred.
The pans come in quality, heavy gauge galvanized steel, a corrosion resistant material. The ribs, or support stiffeners, that are built into the pan cause it to resist deflection, or bending, as the pan fills. Along with decreasing the opportunity and degree of deflection, the ribbing increases the capacity that the wall mounted drip pan can hold.
Wall Mounted Drip Pans are presently available in a variety of sizes, found at
www.killarneymetals.com, but can also be modified to the customer’s application if required. For more information on the wall mount drip pan visit our website or call us toll free at 877-801-7417.

Floor Mount Drip Pans at Killarney Metals
May 31, 2013 - Charlotte, NC
Floor Mount Drip Pans have been added to Killarney Metals’ product offering, creating a new type of spill and drip containment solution. Many drip pans are placed on the floor under leaky areas and are often forgotten, then kicked out of place causing the pan to miss catching the leak. Floor Mount Drip Pans were created to alleviate that issue.
“A unique product that allows pans to stay in place and do their job as intended.” Said Killarney Metals manager Tripp Robbins of the galvanized drip pans. These pans are distinctive from standard drip pans in that they have four holed tabs, one on each corner, extruding from the side of the pan. This makes it possible to bolt the pans directly into the floor and ensure that, even when kicked or bumped, the pans remain in place to catch drips and leakages.
Killarney Metals’ Floor Mount Drip Pans are available now on their website, (
www.killarneymetals.com). Prices vary on quantity of order and pan size (12”, 16”, 20”, 24”, 36”, 36” x 48”, and 48”) while additional discounts are provided to members of the dealer and distributor program.
Killarney Metals Top Grids Release
May 24, 2013 - Charlotte, NC
Killarney Metals has expanded its industrial line of drip and drain pans to include expanded Galvanized Steel Top Grids. This protective covering will sit on top of your drip or drain pan preventing falling materials from mixing in with what you’ve been trying to contain and/or dispose of. Sometimes in a situation where metal fragments are falling onto your pan, you can only afford water to be drained. A Top Grid Pan Lid can catch fragments allowing water to sift through the expanded metal grid unimpeded.
The sides of your Top Grid are made of 18 GA galvanized steel bands, which sit snuggly around a standard Killarney drip or drain pan. Corners are welded with a galvanized protectant. The Top Grid comes in varying sizes including 12, 16, 20, 24, 36 and 36 X 48 inches. The protective meshing that protects items from falling into your pan is made up of 16 GA expanded metal galvanized steel. This material is strong enough for someone to stand on or walk on in a factory setting.

Killarney Metals Expands Residential Pan Line
April 29, 2013 - Charlotte, NC
Killarney Metals has expanded its residential line of drip and drain pans to include a selection of water heater drip pans. Hot water heater units are one of the most common causes of water damage in a home. This is typically caused by equipment failure on the water heater. Leaking water from a hot water heater isn’t always easy to notice and can build up over time, eventually rotting the floor and costing homeowners many expensive repairs.
The pans developed by Killarney Metals are set to replace the plastic and aluminum pans currently on the market with industrial strength Galvanized Steel pans. “They can take more wear and tear abuse. You won’t have to worry about accidental bending or cracking of our pans when working on or around your water heater,” said Killarney Metals Brand Manager, Tripp Robbins. “We provide pans in sizes set to fit standard water heaters,” he continues, “but if you need a non-standard hot water heater pan, we can customize to fit yours as well.”
The new pan sizes come in 36” x 36” x 4” and 24” x 24” x 4” and are available now through their website. Pricing varies based on quantity ordered and additional discounts are offered through Killarney Metals’ new dealer and distributor program.

Be Prepared For The Unexpected
May 31, 2012 -- Charlotte, NC
Many times in factories, mechanic shops, metal shops and various types of high traffic areas, accidents occur. With the high volume of movement and production occurring, accidents are bound to happen. It is important to have the proper precautions for haphazard events like these. Under the General Duty Clause of the Occupational Safety and Health Act, companies are required to keep their “workplace clear of serious and recognized hazards.” Killarney Metals has put together a Spill Containment Kit to help one be prepared.
Spill Containment Kits are essential to everyday work. These kits are made for immediate accessibility and come with essential materials that can help contain spills. Killarney Metals Spill Containment Kit comes with 2 absorbent cellulose socks, 5 perforated pads, a disposal bag, protective gloves and a galvanized Drip Tray! With this Spill Kit you can both clean the mess made if a spill happens, as well as contain any continuing spill as it occurs. The Spill Containment Kit comes neatly packed in an easy access, Spill Kit labeled box for quick identification.
The United States Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) sets the standards for keeping the workplace safe and healthy. They provide companies with information on these standards as well as training, outreach, education, and assistance. It can be hard for facilities to follow and keep track of all of these rules and regulations. Spill Containment Kits can help facilities take control of leaks and spills so that they have one less thing to worry about. For a reminder of the OSHA standards please go to http://www.osha.gov/law-regs.html. Spills can cause short term and long term effects. It is important to get these issues taken care of as soon as possible to avoid massive amounts of damage, wasted time, and money loss.

Be Prepared-Expect the Unexpected
February 16, 2012 -- Charlotte, NC
While working in a busy factory with thousands of people, equipment and materials, accidents must always be considered. Someone may try to ¨beat the clock¨and process that last set of boxes or someone else may not be paying close enough attention to the amount of weight and pressure they put on a machine and – boom - an accident happens. It is important to take the proper precautions before accidents like these occur in your workplace environment.
Proper training and precautions are taken in many processing plants and factories to help prevent the unexpected and unwanted events. It is important to have options and plan B´s when the unwanted situations occur. One example of an accident that is known to happen is liquid spillage. Whether the liquid is hazardous or not it can cause both significant damage and injury. Having these kinds of accidents in our work environment with liquid spillage is a measure we shouldn´t take lightly. Being prepared is important to keep you and your fellow collegues safe.
One common tool to help contain liquid accidents is to have a spill tray or drip pan easily accessible and ready. Spill trays have many benefits. If your company has a proper spill tray made out the right materials it can save your company time, money and effort after a spill occurs. Having the correct size of spill trays can be important too, in case that spill doesn´t stop when you´d like it to. Incorporate drain pans in situations where constant flow is expected and contact Killarney Metals at
www.killarneymetals.com when a high quality, durable, industrial strength spill tray is needed.

Coupling Guards and their Importance
December 15, 2011 -- Charlotte, NC
When working with machines of all sizes, it’s important to consider all variables. It’s important to consider all the proper equipment while working with machinery and safety gear. One part that is important to our safety while working with machines is the coupling guard(s). A Coupling guard is a metal enclosure to a machine that connects a conveyor belt to a motor and serves the purpose of protection while the machine is in operation.
A coupling guard is there to serve as a safety precaution while operating machinery. The coupling guard protects from bodily injury while the machinery is running. People have the potential of getting their clothing or a body part caught in the conveyor belt and it protects against the risk of injuries. Coupling Guards are Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OHSA) regulated, guaranteeing that the product is required to protect the people that work with certain machines. OHSA has a ¨ mission is to prevent work-related injuries, illnesses, and occupational fatality by issuing and enforcing standards for workplace safety and health.¨ (www.ohsa.com)
Killarney Metals knows the importance of coupling guards with machinery and produces various sizes in heavy duty metal enclosures. Safety is the number one most important concern when working with heavy duty machinery and Killarney Metals understands this. Plastic versus Metal Drain Pans
November 17, 2011 -- Charlotte, NC
In a world and time where value is important it is vital that consumers consider economy on more than just pricing. Take for example drain pans.
Most think plastic pans are inexpensive. However, when a drain pan is bought its purpose is to contain a current spill or as an insurance package in case there is a future leak. Plastic drain pans, while possibly less expensive than metal drain pans, tend to crack and break when exposed to heat and cold elements. This tendency increases the likelihood of repair costs due to damage from a spill that the plastic drain pan was intended to contain.
Killarney Metals, a leading producer of custom drain pans makes all its pans out of metal to insure longevity of the life of the pan. The company’s stainless pans are built to last in marine environments and other highly corrosive environments.
When a required solution involves a heavy appliance, industrial application, temperature changes, exposure to the outside environment, any type of moving around or possible damage in high traffic areas or if you are protecting valuable things like home, office, factory or - most importantly - people - consumers should consider the value of having a drain pan that is made to last. “Our customers look for pans that meet their requirements and can stand up to the abuse both time and the environment can bring.” says Killarney Metals sales manager Tripp Robbins. Robbins continues, “Here at Killarney Metals we make a drain pan solid, safe and secure so you don’t have to risk people’s safety or your property.”

Announcing the Assembly Drip Pan Release
June 30, 2011 -- Charlotte, NC
Killarney Metals is proud to announce a beneficial alternative for industries that are required to cover large spill areas in their work zones. Earlier this month Killarney Metals began production on Assembly Drip Pans.
The Drip Pan Assembly standardizes the sizing of the required production by breaking up the total surface area among several overlapping pans. A lighter gauge material can be used, the sizes of the individual pan can be smaller, and smaller sheet sizes will lead to a competitive advantage when it comes to production.
The benefit to the customer in shipping proves to be cost effective as well. Assembly pans are made to fit on a normal skid, which can be stacked so the customer does not have to pay for multiple shipments or endure large freight charges by shipping larger pans.
“Anyone on site can put together these pans simply and effectively. Simply overlap the pan edges and you are in business. The overlapping nature of the assembly builds strength to the overall pan. Assembly Drip pans can be emptied individually. Simply detach the full portion and empty it,” says CEO/President, Scott Toal.
The best part is that the customer saves on the cost of production, shipping and installation. The Assembly Drip Pan will work as one solid pan once installed. For more information, please contact Arthur Toal, Team Engineer with Killarney Metals at
atoal@killarneymetals.com. For more information on custom made drip pans and machine guards please go to:

KILLARNEY OFFERS SAFETY SCREENS FOR MACHINES
March 21, 2011 -- Charlotte, NC
Killarney Metals, a supplier of safety equipment for home, office and factory, has increased its product selection with new safety screens for machine guarding. The company’s metal safety screens differ from other products on the market in the way they are manufactured and the material thickness. Killarney Metals produces three types of custom machine guards. Standard, Industrial and Heavy Duty Screens are available through the company’s website www.killarneymetal.com.
The different uses of the safety screen styles are dependent on the application. While Standard Duty applications are relevant to keeping people away from the machines, Heavy Duty and Industrial standards prevent against bending should there be a system malfunction where metal parts break apart from the machine.
Timing is everything when it comes to complying with OSHA standards. The Killarney Metals system allows you to streamline your safety guard buying process. You have to comply with these standards to protect employees and people around the machinery and sometimes in a hurry. Killarney Metals is there with the service and products you need to meet the requirements. Also, the screens can be painted standard colors, including safety yellow. Through their Machine Guard Pro Quote system you can get different sizes of machine guards.
